DESCRIPTION:Auditions for our Ensemble and Elite teams.  All auditions will be at the Bear studio. \nImportant: One parent/guardian must attend one of the MANDATORY parent meetings\, which will be held on Monday\, June 16th.  One Meeting at noon\, the other meeting at 5pm.  \n We cannot stress the importance of coming to a meeting.  While most information is written in a packet\, there is a LOT of info.  We have found that when parents attend the meeting\, there is less confusion as the season goes on.  \n Please be sure to fill out the form prior to the audition.  Audition Form \n11 and under- 11:00a-12:00p\n12 and up – 2pm-3pm \nIf you are unable to make these times\, we will have one other audition time at 6:00pm \nWhat to Wear \nDancers should wear ALL BLACK dancewear\, hair back\, and have proper shoes. Dancers will NOT need tap or hip hop shoes. Ballet\, Jazz\, or ½ soles are appropriate.  We know some of you love your cute dance clothes\, but we need to be able to see all the dancers as a collective group.  Wearing black streamlines it\, and we are able to see the dancers\, and not the cute clothes.  \nEncore Ensemble – NEW THIS YEAR! \nThe Encore Ensemble will participate in the Newark Halloween Parade down Main Street\, the Newark Winterfest\, perform at a few retirement/nursing homes\, perform in the Elite Showcase in January\, and compete at a local dance competition – usually in February. The Ensemble can select from Bear or Newark. Please make sure that you can commit to the location selected. \nEncore Elite \nThe Elite Competitive Team will have 5 regional competitions\, a National Competition\, potential Worlds\, have the opportunity to participate in a few optional competitions\, and will have the opportunity to perform at the Newark Winterfest. \nEncore Elite competitors can select from Bear\, Newark\, or both. We will place you where we feel you will excel.

SUMMARY:Winter Wonderland Registration!
DESCRIPTION:Winter Wonderland registration has opened!  Click HERE to register! \nOur Winter Wonderland holiday-themed show is optional and only requires dancers to commit to just 6 Sunday rehearsals for participation. \nDancers can perform in 1-2 dances.  Dancers will learn these dances during the first 2 rehearsals\, then practice making it stage-ready ready the remaining 4 rehearsals.  Each rehearsal is 30 minutes and is held at the BEAR studio.  This is a very popular show for our tiny dancers! If this is their first year\, they can participate! \nAll recreational dancers are welcome to participate.  It is a great show if you don’t want to wait until June to hit the stage\, but as a reminder\, this show should be supplemental and not take the place of the June recital.  If you need to make a choice\, we strongly recommend the June show as your dancer has been working all year\, vs. six short weeks. \nOur ensemble and elite teams will also dance in this show.  Santa will make an appearance\, and we will have a bazaar\, photos\, a holiday shop\, vendors\, amazing costumes\, and a lot of happiness! \n  \nShow date: Sunday\, December 7th\, 2025\nLocation: St. Mark’s High School

SUMMARY:Recital Information Meeting 1
DESCRIPTION:This is our first round of recital meetings.  We will discuss what to expect\, how the recital runs\, dates\, and costs.  Once we have all of the meetings\, you will receive an email that will have your dancer(s) names\, what dance classes they are registered for\, and what show each dance is in.  Please\, please\, please look at this document\, and if there is an error in your dancer’s classes\, we really need to know immediately so we can make the change. \nThere will be a link that every family will need to fill out.  We cannot stress the importance of this.  This is where you will let us know if your dancer will be performing in the recital and if they will be doing all the registered dances.  If they are NOT doing all registered dances\, there will be a section to let us know which ones they will be performing in.  This link will be added to the recital portion of the website as well. \nWhile we do attempt to measure every dancer\, sometimes there are absences\, etc\, and we aren’t able to.  There will be a place for you to put your dancer’s street size.  We need to know numbers if at all possible.. like child 10/12\, etc. \nWe will do a quick 10-15-minute session at the end of each class and request that one parent attend. \n

DESCRIPTION:We will measure dancers in classes this week to ensure we order the correct size costumes for our June recital. \nIf your dancer is not in class or misses class for whatever reason\, please try to bring them in one day before we close for winter break\, as most costumes are ordered during this time. \nWe do ask for their street size clothing in the recital confirmation form\, but we still like to get accurate measurements. \nWe do always allow for growth\, especially for our tiny dancers – and as a reminder\, dance costumes are supposed to fit like this year’s bathing suit\, not next year’s Halloween costumes!  🙂
